The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that, among men and women age 60 and older, the prevalence of hypertension (e.g. high blood pressure) is 63.1%.
ACCESSMed Foundation helps vulnerable seniors take advantage of Medicare and Medicaid high blood health insurance options for treating hypertension.
Insurance Cost
Chronic Special Needs health insurance is available for seniors, and other Medicare eligible individuals, who have been diagnosed with hypertension (high blood pressure) by a licensed medical practitioner. Subject to the plans that are available in your county, the cost can vary from no cost (for AHCCCS Medicaid eligible seniors) to low cost (for seniors who have too much income to qualify for AHCCCS Medicaid but are nonetheless living on a limited income).
For seniors who have both Medicare and AHCCCS Medicaid, most of the costs of participating in a Medicare Chronic Special Needs plan will be covered by federal and state governments. For seniors who do not qualify for AHCCCS Medicaid, the cost will depend on the Medicare Advantage plan selected.
