As Arizona’s vulnerable seniors are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, AHCCCS Medicaid enrollment is increasingly critical. To increase and accelerate Medicaid enrollment, nonprofit ACCESSMed counselors are following Safe Medicaid Enrollment best practices which include:
Social Distancing
Social distancing is accomplished through:
-
Telephone Enrollments
Whenever possible, ACCESSMed volunteers provide counseling and enrollment support by phone.
-
No-Entry Paper Enrollments
When it is necessary to complete paper enrollment forms, ACCESSMed volunteers leave a sanitized enrollment package at client’s front door. They help their client complete the paperwork by phone, then retrieve and submit the completed package.
Infection Control
Infection control is accomplished through:
-
Hand Washing, Sanitizers, Masks and Gloves
ACCESSMed volunteers wash their hands at every opportunity and use sanitizer, masks and gloves when preparing and delivering enrollment materials and counseling.
-
Self-identifying Contagious Conditions
Insurance specialists self-identify possibly contagious conditions and cease participating until cleared by their healthcare provider.
-
Infection Control Education and Compliance
Volunteers are trained in enrollment-related infection control best practices and sign a Certificate of Compliance.
